i remember when we did an exercise in RA training, looking a teammate in the eyes for a full 2 minutes (not playing the laughing game either!) just to engage in that level of communication. the eyes say a lot. you are (literally) looking into a person…. and it can feel revealing, unnerving, but then it can also feel warm and welcoming when you look into eyes and you are see love and assurance in them.
people here don’t sustain eye contact much.
