>Bright Star ~ John Keats
Bright star, would I were stedfast as thou art–
Not in lone splendour hung aloft the night………

kristin and i just got back from watching Bright Star. it’s based on the true story of poet John Keats, and i know its glamorized for a movie, but what an wrenching story… the mastery of language to convey deep emotion is really a gift. i am so often struck by the limits of language… and admire people who command it. i wanna go watch it again!!!

kristin and i had a great afternoon…  did a bit of reading in central park overlooking a lake, with aspiring and very gifted musicians serenading from several points within earshot of our grassy knoll. it was a bit nippy in the city today, so hot cups of coffee were involved. a raccoon climbed the tree next to us, and all the children playing in the park on a saturday came rushing towards us to get a glimpse of him escaping up the tree. he came down a bit later after they had dissipated, and scampered off in search of some trash cans.

out to new jersey tomorrow. hurrah for time out of the concrete.
